This is an operational support position as a Windows Systems Administrator responsible for hardware/software support and maintenance of Varolii Corporation?s Production, Development, and Test servers in a multiple data center production environment. This position reports to the Manager, Systems Admin and works closely with Sr. Windows Administrators, the rest of the Operations, Development, and Services teams.
Provide 24 x 7 Windows 2008 Server administration, supporting, maintaining 100+ production, development, back office, and test systems.
Provide Windows administration, coordination, scheduling support, installation and maintenance
Perform the same duties for projects, initiatives and new infrastructure development
Other duties include, but are not limited to: troubleshooting hardware and software problems, user support for clients and internal staff, and inventory tracking.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Minimum 2 years Windows Server administration experience in an operations environment
Solid and creative troubleshooting skills (hardware, software, and networking)
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain configuration documents / artifacts using MS Office Tools
Basic knowledge of hardware, networking protocols, and internet security principles
Ability to work within a team as well as an individual contributor,
Effective written, verbal and interactive communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required
On Call availability required
Very minimal travel is required
Education / Experience:
Experience with Windows 2008 versions; knowledge with clustering / HA a must.
Microsoft Active Directory topology; Trusts, GPO, ADFS, etc?
Experience with scripting tools, Perl, Powershell; Also remote management is strongly preferred
Basic understanding with Telephony, VoIP, Voice Media Servers, IVR or SMS is preferred.
Experience with virtualization (VMware / MS Hyper-V) is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and or Experience with SQL Server or Unix platforms is a plus
Some type of MCP Certification required, Certified MCSE, MCSA & CCNA preferred
Awareness and knowledge of Source Control, ITIL and Service Management principles is preferred
BS in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred; High School Diploma required
