Summary: Questar has an opportunity for a Systems Analyst in the Operations Department at our corporate office in Apple Valley, MN. This position is responsible for developing and documenting system and functional requirements for educational testing projects. This includes responsibility for verifying and validating hard-copy document and computer processing setup while also assisting with problem resolution during live operations in a production environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze and documents requirements for projects.
Prepare initial set-up of software applications for internal and external users
Analyze live data and implements corrective procedures and/or actions
Provide ideas and assists in implementation of new processes/procedures to improve efficiency of operations
Review projects schedules to ensure tasks are documented and meet target dates for project requirements
Analyze and resolve issues within area of responsibility
Develop Process Work Instructions (PWI) and checklists for tasks in assigned area of responsibility.
Notify Manager in timely manner on task progress and issues
Coordinate with IT department on issues surrounding software requirements
Provide clients or others system/software demonstrations as needed
Provide materials and project analysis to assist in risk management and mitigation
Required Qualifications:
2-5 years of Systems Analyst experience
Minimum of an Associate?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or similar field
Previous experience with data collection (hardware systems and web applications) and data processing systems a plus
Background in MS Office products including MS Excel and databases (SQL or Access)
Experience developing and implementing a QA plan to validated expected system outputs
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare and present customer focused training
Ability to think logically, critically and constructively about complex problems and propose/document solutions that address client requirements
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, manage changing priorities and work flexible hours to meet needs of time sensitive projects
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or similar field preferred
