Job summary:
Performs consultative duties including training on technical applications, serving as the subject matter expert, and transfer product and industry knowledge to early adopters, departments, beta customers and large-scale, high profile costumer implementations. Education methods, deliverables and activities include but are not limited to instructor led training, web casting, on-site client consulting providing subject matter expertise support and so on. Proficient in one or more areas of products and industries, can handle complex curriculum and consulting projects, support technical implementation issues and works
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Requires a working knowledge of technology including but not limited to, databases, operating systems, hardware configurations and networks
Ø Requires a strong desire to learn the Lawson technical infrastructure, development environments, third party products used to support the Lawson applications
Ø Develop the consulting skills and specific recommendations surrounding Lawson (and related third party) technologies and tools in order to perform product installations and related consulting/training activities
Ø Maintain up-to-date skills on the most recent release of the Lawson technical and third party tools to continue to provide a high level of service to the Lawson customer
Ø Must have and maintain a high level of communication skills, both written and oral
Ø Must develop a working knowledge of the current Lawson Implementation Methodology and tools used to provide an accurate, complete and successful implementation. Includes understanding all of the Lawson positions and responsibilities as part of the implementation.
Ø Understand the role and responsibility of the Technology consultant in an implementation
Ø Complete all required documentation as part of the implementation, including status reports, exit documents, expense reporting, technical documentation
Ø Maintaining regular contact with the Lawson Project Manager or engagement owner and the client's technology project
Ø Coordinating communication within the LPS team to include identification of client expectations, critical business issues, and any pertinent information discovered during the turnover process with the sales team
Ø Promote Lawson, its products and services, in a positive, responsible manner
Ø Provides clients with consulting expertise and “best practice†recommendations in many different areas, and has significant experience consulting on a variety of technologies, tools, configurations
Ø Coordinating Lawson's participation in the client's project, including: software installation, technical training, technical consulting, etc., following Lawson's Implementation Methodology
Ø Increased knowledge of the Lawson products including applications, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the implementation planning process
Ø Work closely with the Project team to coordinate participation in the client's project including: software installation, training, technology consulting, etc., following Lawson's implementation methodology (Project Architect) to clients, prospective clients, and third parties.
Ø Conduct/participate in a pre-installation conference call necessary to familiarize Lawson personnel with the specific hardware, operating system, database, web server, and Lawson product configurations; review the pre-installation checklist and make specific recommendations to the client; and develop the overall installation
Ø Assess and develop the overall installation schedule based on specific client requirements
Ø to suggest and implement solutions to business issues
