The volume of video and still image data generated in consumer, commercial and government environments is growing exponentially. Ingesting this avalanche of information, tagging the video and images with relevant meta-data and ensuring distributed users can quickly and easily ask and answer key who, what, when and where questions ? these are the challenges that ObjectVideo tackles every day.We are looking for an experienced systems and database architect to guide the development of a distributed, unstructured data architecture that minimizes unnecessary data transfer but ensures high accessibility. Experience dealing with bandwidth constrained, low reliability networks and large file-sizes is a must. The successful candidate will help adapt existing architectures to efficiently exploit cloud computing resources; design, develop and implement all aspects of computer software Services Oriented Architecture, including services, components and communication.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related field or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience in commercial software development and database design/development.
Experience in core software development, either C#/C++ and object-oriented programming or PHP, Python, HTML5 or other UI tools.
2+ years of professional experience working with Service Oriented Architecture, network programming and computer vision/video algorithms.
SQL experience required; NoSQL and Hadoop experience desired.
Experience with ?Big-Data? architectures, unstructured datasets and/or video tagging a strong plus.
Systems/database architect experience with multi-tier architectures, unstructured datasets, cloud-based systems, Amazon EC2 preferred.
