· Managing Products and/or Projects
o Supervise/manage software development team consisting of 2-20+ members.
o Provides leadership and direction to the development team tasked with the final creation of the functional area product. These products are frequently significant assignments for Lawson since these products are sold to its clients.
o Works with all project stakeholders to ensure proper consideration of all viewpoints is considered.
o Advocates product and/or project vision and expectations of Lawson products in accordance with the overall Lawson product and/or project.
o Provides conceptual direction to development groups implementing or maintaining elements of the architecture appropriate to the functional area.
o Coordinates development resources on the product and/or project in order to meet expected outcome and product quality standards
o Works with all project stakeholders to ensure proper consideration of all viewpoints is considered.
o Assists in refining product and/or project requirements to feature definitions.
· Staff Management
o Ensure team has a strong sense of ownership and accountability in their day to day activities
o Clearly set expectations on work load/activities and priorities based on current information
o Collaborate with other software Development Management personnel to ensure products/projects are staffed for successful completion in terms of number of resource, skill level, work load, and experience.
o Time Entry/Time Approval
o Expense Report Review and Approval as appropriate.
o Lead the Performance/Appraisal Management for the assigned organizational unit.
o Collaborate with other software Development Management personnel during Merit Allocation process.
o Interviews, selects, and trains members of their team and may participate in the selection of team members for other teams.
· Critical or Strategic Customer Management
o Provide expected results to customer situations in which provide a positive outcome for customers and Lawson
o Delegate other duties as appropriate to ensure positive outcome.
o Provide advice to Senior Lawson Management when it pertains to client issues that are an outcome of product issues.
Requirements:
· Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College degree, Computer Science/Information Tech or equivalent.
· At least 5 year's relevant experience in software development
· Knowledge of project management practices.
· Knowledge of software development life cycles
· Planning, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills.
· Problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills.
· Analytical and technical skills.
· Team work and organizational skills
· Self-motivation and discipline, ability to multi-task.
· Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
