Systems Engineer CoreDial
The company seeks individuals with knowledge of Internet system design and provisioning automation to work on their engineering team to improve our existing cloud communication management system.Duties and Responsibilities
Enhance and create new Chef recipes for automated deployment.
Use tools like Mock to build new RPM packages.
Assist in the design of technical solutions for proposed enhancements to our platform and estimation of effort required to complete the work.
Provide support to developer and operation co-workers to troubleshoot and correct problems in the automated deployment.
Design and build solutions using virtualization technologies, Amazon EC2 and other cloud computing solutions.
Qualifications
Past experience working in a high availability Internet production environment
The ability to define your own work, make decisions based on projects you are managing and any available discretionary time.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, emerging growth environment.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written needed to interact with team members and document proposed and completed solutions.
Excellent knowledge of Linux, specifically we use RedHat based distributions and Ubuntu.
Strong experience and conceptual understanding of some programming language. In our work we interact frequently with Bash, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Python and Erlang both for tool creation and troubleshooting existing production services.
Experience with: high performance MySQL, VirtualBox, Jenkins and agile software processes a plus.
Some knowledge of DevOps tools and processes, e.g. Chef, Puppet, CFEngine.
Experience troubleshooting C software deadlocks or crashes using GDB with core files is a plus.
A drive to earn and take on additional responsibility when the opportunity arrises.
