The ideal candidate for the position of the System Engineer will be individual who has ?real world? experience architecting, designing, deploying, and managing large-scale storage infrastructures in support of corporate standard and proprietary applications. The individual will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the NaviNet Technical Operations department in furthering the evolution of the infrastructure as they apply to NaviNet Production Application and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity infrastructure(s) in support of major projects and day to day infrastructure support alike.
The individual will be responsible for the health and well being of the NaviNet Production SaaS/ASP infrastructure including but not limited to production collocation operations, production Windows Server Systems, the supporting infrastructure environmental components and other applications related to the NaviNet. The candidate will require extensive knowledgein storage administration (SAN/NAS) on the NetAppand NetAppFlexpod technologies. The candidate will also have solid working knowledge of supporting technologies such as VMware Virtualization Platform(s) (VSphere 4) including VMware Cluster deployment, Physical to Virtual Migration (P2V) and tuning of the Virtual Infrastructure. Additional knowledge inMicrosoft Windows server operating environment (Windows 2003/2008, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Active Directory, SMTP, DNS, WINS, DFS, etc. is a plus. The individual will be accountable to be the key stakeholder in all Internal IT infrastructures from on call and monitoring response to developing and maintaining inventory of services and systems and making recommendations toward the strategic roadmap of the internal IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (in order to be considered for this position, the individual must be able to perform essential functions listed below):
Assist in the design of a high grade storage infrastructure accounting for key datacenter technologies including networking, compute, backup/DR, and virtualization. Provide knowledge transfer workshops around key storage technologies to clients.
Assist in the delivery of NetApp based storage solutions.
System and Storage Administration
Provide on-site support for all internal technologies (including software and hardware set-up)
Hardware upgrades and additions
Data ONTAP and firmware upgrades and recommendations
Onsite diagnostics and replacement of hardware components
Provide advanced engineering and support for NetApp SAN/NAS hardware, middleware and software.
Work closely with customers, partners and vendors to effectively plan, implement and maintain NetApp storage infrastructures.
Provide superior customer service to our customers (both internal and external)
Reply to all customers? requests in a timely fashion
Adhere to strict change control procedures
Maximize time to properly manage workload
Provide server hardware and software support for remote users
Research new server automation solutions
Experience with Cisco MDS, UCS a Major plus!
Valid Driver?s License

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (optional)
Participate in post mortem activities and report generation as required.
Be available for occasional after-hours (24x7) support
Document processes and workflows
5+ years? experience in system engineering
3+ years? experience in Netapp and NetappFlexpod
Hands-on experience in current enterprise level NetApp SAN/NAS storage design, networking, configuration, capacity management, troubleshooting and support.
Solid understanding of various methods to back-up virtual machines as well as DR strategies utilizing VMotion, HA, SAN snapshots, LUN replication, etc.
Solid understanding of NetApp SAN/NAS technology and how VM is implemented with shared storage (eg. fiber channel, iSCSI, NFS or CIFS. RDM vs VMFS) strategies for performance and optimization across logical and physical network topologies.
VMware Infrastructure design and planning involving large scale clusters.
Must have experience with VMWare: installation; configuration; admin duties
Have installed and managed systems in Active Directory under Windows 2003, 2008
Ability to configure/troubleshoot Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN concentrators
Ability to install/troubleshoot/maintain Microsoft SQL Servers (including clustering)
Scripting experience in Powershell, Python, Perl or Ruby is a must
Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring for new team members.
Extensive SnapManager experience
Extensive SnapMirror experience
MultiStore/vFiler experience including DR feature set
VMware/Exchange/SQL/Oracle/SAP on NetApp experience
Multiprotocolimplementation - NFS, CIFS, FCP, iSCSI, FTP protocols
Ethernet experience; ability to work with network Admins to configure virtual interfaces (vifs) on NetApp
Strong customer service focus
Ability to work in a team environment
Proven ability to follow change control procedures
Proven ability to work with vendors
Ability to document hardware/software configurations and processes
Willingness to learn new technologies
Excellent troubleshooting and analytic skills
Must be proactive, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure
