MediaMath is currently looking for a Systems Engineer. The Systems Engineer role will be responsible for management and delivery of infrastructure solutions for the MediaMath Platform. Reporting to the Director of Operations, and working with Development, Product and other Infrastructure Services teams, the Systems Engineer will deliver an infrastructure that is technically superior, scalable, and ensures industry-best availability. Management of the infrastructure includes a variety of skills including deep knowledge of Linux administration, global systems architecture, NoSQL databases, Cisco networking configurations, hands-on build-outs of the servers at collocation facilities, as well as project management skills, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and on-time. The ideal candidate typically has at least 4 years of Systems / Networking experience, exhibits self-starting skills, and will be able to work efficiently in a diverse, highly talented team, with high-pressure (and tight) deadlines. Some travel will be required: local, US, and possibly international.
Required Qualifications:
Current, enterprise-class Infrastructure/System Engineering experience with Linux systems
Must demonstrate knowledge of Linux operating system concepts, including file system, kernel, memory, networking, and security concepts
Experience and knowledge with NoSQL database architectures and concepts (specifically MongoDB)
Experience designing, implementing and managing web solutions utilizing Apache, PostgreSQL, openSSL and Perl
Extensive experience with global DNS deployments built on top of Anycast
Experience with monitoring systems and frameworks using opensource tools such as Nagios and Zenoss feeding NOC?s with real-time alerts
Using RRD tools (i.e. Cacti) to graph metrics such as I/O, CPU, memory, bandwidth usage, and other, creative metrics
Strong working knowledge of networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS and NFS
Experience working with LVS a plus.
Strong working knowledge of Internet technologies including HTTP, LDAP, SSL
Must possess strong understanding of switching principles and protocols including, VLAN, STP, VTP, ISL, 802.1Q, Etherchannel
Must possess strong understanding of packet analysis tools and be proficient at reading network packet streams
A security minded professional who will identify best-in-class solutions for systems, network, and data security
Experience implementing and troubleshooting CDN provider issues
Experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions
Scripting experience (Perl, shell)
Technical leadership for project based assignments
Must provide continuous evaluation of the company?s network infrastructure and initiate expansion or remediation projects to support growth and mitigate risks
Customer facing support experience
The drive and attitude to work on nights and weekends during scheduled maintenance windows and emergency outages
