THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Tantalus is seeking a Systems Engineer based in Raleigh, NC to work as an active member of the Field Services team responsible for delivering and implementing on customer contracts. Your role will be to coordinate, supervise, and execute Tantalus Utility Network (TUNet) deployments from initiation through delivery. Duties include site surveys, installation, configuration, commissioning, and other related implementation work. You will support customers in solving complex product problems, training customers, and providing technical support. Responsibilities will also include working with internal departments such as Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing to coordinate product deliveries and communicate customer requirements. This role serves as a primary interface with our utility customers with the intent on ensuring that Tantalus meets or exceeds expectations. Travel of one to three weeks per month (25-75%) will be required, and the successful candidate may also be called upon to undertake duties outside those of the principal role as stated above.
Minimum 5 years work experience in direct interaction with customers
Minimum 5 years work experience in large network implementations
Current experience in using RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes to diagnose radio equipment in less-than-ideal field conditions
Able to navigate and operate within a Linux or Unix computing environment from the command line
Experience in SQL Queries ? writing, tuning and debugging capabilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including MS-Project
Work experience with electric utilities
Knowledge of radio propagation characteristics including effects of antenna selection and various environmental conditions
Licensed amateur radio operator
RF experience from the wireless telecommunications sector
Education & Professional Credentials Desired:
Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic or Computer preferred)
Professional Engineering (PE) certification required
