Systems Engineer Cloudmark

Job responsibilities:

Provide hands-on contribution in deploying and maintaining the Cloudmark spam fighting service.
Support RedHat Linux-based production systems
Support Cisco IOS-based network hardware (router and switch configurations, VPN tunnels, etc)
Support various VMware products (vSphere ESXi, VMware Server)
Support Fibre Channel and NFS SAN infrastructure
Contribute to the development of operational tools and procedures.
Provide on-call and scheduled support for the production service.

Required skills:

Expertise with RedHat Linux systems administration and mass systems orchestration with Puppet
Deep understanding of the OSI model, plus routing and network design on primarily Cisco hardware
Perl and shell scripting for systems administration
5+ years in an internet service provider operations/engineering environment, contributing directly to systems design, deployment and administration
Ability to build a TCP/IP based network, with address allocation, domain name services, mail services, web services, database services, file services, security services
Keen awareness of criticality of production service administration


Desired Skills:

Experience building virtualized environments with VMware products and associated SAN infrastructure
RPM-based package compilation and management
Apache administration
SQL programming
MySQL database administration
Nagios/Icinga and Cacti configuration and administration
LDAP administration
Experience with spam prevention
Internet mail systems and protocols
BS in computer science or related field
