Systems Engineer Meraki
The System Engineer's primary responsibility is to assist our Inside Sales Team with technical sales activities for new and existing opportunities. System Engineers will have in-depth knowledge of Meraki?s solutions, competitors' offerings and can demonstrate competitive advantages to both Prospects and Partners. The System Engineer is a critical component to the Sales Team and is designed to display an in-depth knowledge about Meraki and industry related solutions and trends. Must be technically savvy, highly motivated, and self-directed.
Meraki seeks a Systems Engineer with abilities to conduct online product demonstrations, answer technical questions, contribute to proposals, and analyze client needs to provide technical solutions in a pre-sales technical role. In additional to technological aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke passion and confidence. This is an Inside job with very little travel required.
Become the technical subject matter expert and thoroughly understand products, features, functions, and benefits while being able to share with all levels of organization and clients.
Understand customer requirements for wireless networks and explain how Meraki will integrate with current infrastructure, as well as service future needs by assisting the Sales Team as a technical resource for all product related inquires
Create product documentation for public/internal audience and perform competitive analysis regarding competing products
Perform site surveys and provide onsite deployment assistance on large deployments
Assist Channel Partners in effectively marketing and selling the Meraki solution, and provide technical guidance to the Channel
Ability to act as technical lead in product demonstrations, own all technical inquires and drive prospects to closure
Expert knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n wireless networks, site surveys, requirements gathering, deployment challenges
Solid understanding of wired networks, including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLAN's, etc.
Understand wireless security methodologies, including 802.1x w/ RADIUS integration
Proven track record of 2-6 years in a sales engineer capacity
Exceptional sales skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and proven negotiation techniques and ability to teach these skills to others.
Great relationship skills, tenacity, resilience and inter-personal/presentation skills.
Wireless, networking, enterprise software or IT experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.
BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline.
