Systems Engineer/Solution Architect - Central Region Astute Networks

The Systems Engineer/Solution Architect will be responsible for providing pre- and post-sales technical support to the Astute Networks sales organization (including but not limited to the Regional Sales Managers, National Sales Manager, Global SVP of Sales and Channel Partners). The candidate will provide technical support on the products and services. This position will require travel. Primary focus will be on developing solid relationships and supporting pre-sales efforts with prospective customers with virtualized infrastructures that are experiencing performance challenges due to slow virtualized hard disk storage and other factors. The individual will also work in a collaborative effort with our channel partners and their technical resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position are as follows:
Proficiency with Salesforce.com, LinkedIn and other social networking tools such as Twitter.
Travels through assigned territory as appropriate to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
Make oral and written technical sales presentations when necessary to present Astute Networks products and services.
Ability to install equipment as needed for presales, evaluations, and post sales.
Prepare correspondence as necessary to facilitate sales activities. This would include writing POC, project management, letters, reports, emails, etc.
Participate with Sales as they prepare quarterly updated forecasts for existing customers and new targeted business.
Attends user groups, trade shows, and other industry related networking events.
Education, Experience and Computer Skills are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.
Expert knowledge of VMware ESX/ESXi, vSphere, vCenter Server.
Hands-on experience with configuration of VMware products, virtual machines, virtualized iSCSI storage and Ethernet networks.
Familiarity with VMware supported guest operating systems including Windows Server and Red Hat Linux.
