Systems Modeling Engineer Exa
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Exa Corporation seeks a Systems Modeling Engineer to develop integrated solutions between system tools and Exa?s powerful suite of simulation software products. In this hands-on role you will provide the technical expertise to develop new and support existing leading-edge systems applications for the automotive industry world-wide. You will have the opportunity to develop multi-disciplinary solutions combining Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and systems models. This job will provide high visibility and significant growth potential to the right candidate.
As a Systems Modeling Engineer you will:
? Act as a member of the Aerodynamics & Thermal Applications Group and be responsible for the development and deployment of new technical solutions of interest to the automotive industry.
? Become proficient in the use of Exa?s software and other Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
? Work with the leading automotive companies and help them solve challenging problems related to thermal management issues.
? Communicate with customers and if necessary provide technical support for the developed applications. You will also work closely with members of the team and other groups within the company.
? Candidates with experience in thermal management, battery modeling,
electric/hybrid vehicles are especially encouraged to apply.
You will report to the Director, Systems Modeling and Controls and will be based in Livonia, Michigan. If you are an ambitious team player with keen technical skills and a desire to continue learning new technologies while working in a fast paced environment, this may be the place for you.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics, Physics or equivalent. Electrical and Chemical Engineering backgrounds will also be considered.
? Strong expertise in the use of system tools and development of application libraries.
? Experience with system tools like GT Suite, AMESim, Simulink, Flowmaster, Kuli, OpenModelica, Dymola, etc.
? Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer fundamentals, preferably with a thermal management background and 3-5 years of relevant research or work in industry. Candidates with related experience will be considered.
? Experience using commercial CFD and other CAE tools a strong plus.
? Knowledge of systems related skills such as model identification, model reduction, controls and calibration a strong plus.
? UNIX skills, script programming and knowledge of programming languages such as MATLAB a strong plus.
? Strong oral communication skills in English and good presentation skills.
? Fluency or working level knowledge in additional languages a strong plus.
? Excellent problem-solving and a desire for continuous learning.
? Ability to apply these skills cooperatively in a challenging, fast-paced environment on a team with experienced professionals.
? Willingness to travel up to 10% domestic and international.
