Summary:
The Company is actively seeking a qualified self-motivated professional Systems/Network Administrator to provide day to day IT support for Quantum3Ds San Jose office including but not limited to the configuration, maintenance, and repair of computer systems, phones, networking equipment, and printers. Perform software and hardware troubleshooting. Monitor and maintain mission-critical hardware and services.
The selected candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status and should have Computer Science or related degree and/or 1 to 3 years related work experience. A+/Network+/Security+ certifications or other IT industry certifications a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot problems with DNS, web services, mail services and overall aspects of an Active Directory environment.
Assemble custom built desktop workstations with consistency and efficiency
Troubleshoot hardware issues with desktop and laptop computers, phones, and printers including disassembly and repair
Install, configure, and troubleshoot a wide variety of Windows-based software for end users including licensing and dependency issues
Maintain the integrity of and monitor the health and optimization of the corporate servers and end user workstations.
Perform maintenance during non-business hours as required. 24 hour availability required under some circumstances.
Communicate effectively with the Sr. IT Engineer to restore mission-critical services in a timely manner as necessary
Maintain a broad knowledge of operating systems and hardware
Provide secondary support to other functions of the IT department.
Install, configure, image, and repair Windows operating systems
Support ancillary tasks as required e.g., facility maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong foundation in Windows operating systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2003/2008.
Solid understanding of networking protocols and configuration
Excellent software and hardware troubleshooting skills
Ability to multi-task and solve multiple day-to-day IT-related issues simultaneously
Ability to communicate problems and solutions effectively to IT Staff and end users
Superior attention to detail
