The Systems Programmer's role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new software applications in support of the Cvent Information Systems Department. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications to provide task automation, systems integration and reporting. The Systems Programmer will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The System Programmer will work closely with the system administrators to optimize the effectiveness of technology. The position requires high-level knowledge of network technologies, server and desktop administration, database administration as well as business functions and processes.

Researches specific technical software and related questions and problems from team members and users from other departments.
Collaborate with system and network administrators in conceptualizing, developing, and testing of new software programs and applications.
Implements system backup procedures and participates in recovery operations.
Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
Converts software specification requirements into appropriate programming languages.
Analyzes software specifications for completeness and compatibility with operating system capabilities.
Reviews and documents software failures and takes corrective action as directed.
Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the systems and processes.
Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines.
Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Install software products for end users as required.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
Ensures security and integrity of all systems and data.
Recommends policies and procedures.
Bachelors degree required. Desired majors include Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc.
Successful candidates will have 0 - 2 years of relevant experience, in a professional or educational environment.
Experience in SharePoint MOSS 2007 or 2010 is very desirable.
Experience in Unix Shell and Perl scripting is very desirable.
Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of systems and applications programming.
Knowledge of the functions and capabilities of computer operating systems and software programming applications.
