You'll be responsible for the management and technical leadership of our backend services team. You are both a great developer and an effective leader and manager. You will be responsible for system design, implementation and maintenance across a range of services, dealing with scaling issues under very high load, algorithm design and implementation, project scheduling and coordination. You will be working with proprietary search engines and crawlers, distributed high-performance file systems, messaging services, document processing engines and a host of similar technologies.Excellent communication skills are mandatory. We are a very collaborative team-based environment and you will need to be effective in such environments.
This is a key and very visibile position with great growth prospects.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Demonstrated ability in hands-on leadership
8+ years development and technical leadership experience in SaaS
Experience with large-scale fault-tolerant distributed systems
Designing scalability and performance under extreme conditions
Absolute expert in C/C++
Perl (strong preference but not strictly required)
Distributed systems
Java/Python very nice to have
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
