JOB SUMMARY
The Swan application is a highly functional SQL based manufacturing system. We currently have a vacancy for a Software Engineer within the Swan Development Team. You will be principally project-oriented, working to ensure the application remains compatible with the latest advances in technology. Some maintenance work on existing code may be required from time to time. You must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision, whilst also sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Production of deliverables to agreed time scales
•Working self-sufficiently and collaboratively to ensure goals are achieved
•Providing thought leadership in the definition and design of the application
•Ensuring that the application meets both technical and business needs
•Co-ordination of the definition, design and specification of the technical architecture
•Identify possible improvements related to work processes and tools
•Develop, demonstrate and maintain personal technical skills
Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will:
•Be fluent in T-SQL
•Have a good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Technologies including server administration
•Be highly analytical, a problem solver and resourceful
•Have a working knowledge of C#, C++ and UI design
•Have a good understanding of coding standards and be able to follow them
•Have a working knowledge of manufacturing systems
VB, XML, ASP, HTML5 knowledge would also be an advantage but not essential

•Have strong attention to detail
•Ability to prioritise issues and objectives based upon commercial and technical reasoning
•Be versatile, adaptable and approachable to meet business objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•BSc or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent
•UK Citizenship
