Job Description
Return preparation
Prepare and review federal and state partnership returns and associated workpapers, utilizing OneSource and/or other tax software, within established due dates.
Preparation of state and local Corporate income and franchise returns and associated workpapers, utilizing OneSource and/or other tax software, within established due dates.
Prepare and reconcile Schedule K-1 data for corporate federal and state tax returns.
Communicate joint venture concepts and results to stakeholders including partners, corporate tax and accounting.
Prepare other partnership and state reports as required
Provide systems support for JV reporting needs
Prepare and reconcile state apportionment data for FMCNA joint ventures
Prepare projections of partnership taxable income for partners, state corporate taxable income projections
Identify and research tax planning strategies and opportunities for joint venture tax process.
Financial Statements and Budgeting
Assist in preparation of quarterly and yearly tax provision workpapers related to partnership income and state corporate taxes including analysis of deferred taxes and reconciliations for FAS 109 calculations.
Assist in tax calculations for budgeting and forecasting ? including tax rates, tax payments, and impact of proposed transactions.
Assist in JV state tax accrual accounting and true-ups.
Audits:
Assist in documenting and responding company tax positions for federal and state notices and auditors.
Work with federal and state tax teams on special projects and processes, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Minimum 1-2 years experience in Big 4 accounting firm tax department.
Ability to meet strict deadlines; especially between January 15th, April 15th and September 15th.
Experience in preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns and associated compliance.
Experience in partnership tax concepts and planning including 704 and 754 elections.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office applications and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with SAP Accounting, Onesource tax software strongly preferred.
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision on large, detail oriented projects.
Knowledge of tax laws & regulations, and ability to research tax issues.
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
