Tax Analyst Position Description:

This is an entry level position supporting both the Transaction and Property Tax compliance functions under the direct supervision of the Transaction Tax or Property Tax Managers. This position will be responsible for working with our out-source vendors in preparing, reviewing and analyzing sales, use, excise or gross receipts and property tax data, return preparation, monthly account reconciliations, maintaining the tax calendar and other jobs as may be assigned.




Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of multi-state telecom transaction and/or property taxes and the Federal Universal Service Fund Surcharges.

Ability to work well under pressure an effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.

Must be able to work under strict deadlines.
Job Requirements :

Required Qualifications:

Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work related experience.

1 to 3 years experience in finance or tax.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; working familiarity with Oracle Financials and Vertex/CommTax system tax software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Basic understanding of complex computerized financial systems.


Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

Telecommunications tax experience including Return Preparation and Audits.

Sales tax research (RIA or CCH), Tax Return preparation and review experience.

Tax Variance analysis.

Successful completion of IPT Sales Tax School 1.
