Tax & Global Mobility Accountant EMEA Guidewire Software

The position reports directly to the EMEA Director of finance and will also work closely with the local accountants for each EMEA entity as well as the group tax team at our headquarters in California. The successful candidate will be a tax generalist, with experience of global mobility, able to project manage, multitask and coordinate our tax environment throughout EMEA.
Key activities for the role include:
GLOBAL MOBILITY TAXES
Guidewire has a large population of professional services consultants working outside of their home country, often for extended periods causing them to become taxable outside of their home country. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the consolidation and coordination of information in respect of our global mobility employees. The successful candidate will work closely with our big four global mobility partner to ensure assignments are planned appropriately and employee tax returns are submitted and paid on a compliant, timely and efficient basis. This will include EMEA inbound assignees as well as intra EMEA assignees. Key countries impacted currently include: US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Italy, South Africa, Finland, Russia, Switzerland, The Netherlands
2 CORPORATE INCOME TAXES
The successful candidate will work with our entity lead accountants to calculate our monthly corporate tax provisions and work with our local tax advisors each quarter and year end ensuring that returns and filed and payments are made or a timely, compliant and efficient basis. The successful candidate will also be the key point of contact in EMEA for any tax related queries from our HQ tax team. Countries currently include: UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland and Italy.
3 INDIRECT TAXES
The successful candidate will work with our entity lead accountants and our local tax advisors to ensure that each country return (VAT, TVA etc) is filed and payments made / receipts collected on a timely, compliant and efficient basis. The successful candidate will also be the key point of contact in EMEA for any tax related queries from our HQ tax team. Countries currently include: UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland and Italy.
4 PAYROLL TAXES ON EMPLOYEE EQUITY INCOME
All Guidewire employees are issued restricted stock units (RSUs) in Guidewire Software Inc. These vest over a four year period and when released to employees are released net of local taxes and social charges. This process requires close liaison with the payroll providers to ensure that estimated tax and social charge rates to apply to the upon â€˜net stock issuance' are accurate and we report gains on a timely basis. Countries currently include: UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria.
- Tax Qualified Accountant (2 years plus PQE)
- Experience in creating processes and policies from scratch
- Significant experience within a global mobility tax team (either in practise or in industry)
