The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all local, federal and international tax returns and estimates, ensuring timely payments to all jurisdictions. He/She will analyze, present and implement effective US and international tax planning strategies and partner with outside service providers and internal accounting/finance to manage the domestic and international tax provision preparation process. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills and will have an expert understanding of US tax laws and able to manage international tax matters. Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain domestic and international tax provisions, ensuring compliance with all tax jurisdictions.
Prepare forecast the worldwide effective tax rate on a quarterly basis.
Manage direct and indirect tax calendar.
Coordinate with outside tax advisors and manage any outsourced preparation and filing of tax returns.
Manage and implement tax reporting, compliance and accounting policies.
Manage all tax audits, assessments and requests for information.
Manage sales, use and property tax reporting, VAT and other non-income tax issues.
Develop/implement tax cycle business controls and procedures including key controls.
Prepare financial statement disclosures related to income taxes.
Responsible for timely and accurate quarterly tax accounting, financial reporting.
Coordinate the organization's forecasted cash needs with the global finance organization.
Simplify systems and processes to efficiently compile information for reporting, compliance and audits.
Plan and provide technical support for international tax matters, including acting as project manager or tax lead on cross functional projects.
Liaise with operations, HR, and other business groups or functional areas regarding international tax issues including but not limited to tax impact of, employee movement among entities, etc.
Advise senior management of the business impact of new tax laws and related income tax regulations, court decisions and proposed tax legislation.
Strategic planning for intercompany transactions, including drafting and maintaining intercompany agreements and database in support of multinational business model.
Prepare and post tax entries into the company's accounting system.
Requirements:
8+ years of corporate/public tax experience, preferably within ecommerce industry.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of GAAP accounting for income taxes (ASC740).
Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities, able to research complex tax matters and reach sound conclusions.
Excellent knowledge of federal income taxation of international transactions or operations.
Significant project and time management skills required.
Excellent oral and writing communication skills with senior management, cross-functional teams and outside tax advisors.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, growing, dynamic environment.
Competency with accounting system software packages.
