AP also has a dedicated Education team that conducts our industry-acclaimed Mentorship programs both at our U.S. facilities and around the world. POSITION OVERVIEW: CAPTAIN Athletes? Performance has partnered with the NFLPA to implement and execute the Lifecycle program. This program is designed to facilitate an effective career transition for former players, whether they are recently retired or well into their post-NFL life. Athletes? Performance takes a holistic approach to athlete development and the program will focus on the needs of the ?whole player.? It will emphasize the physical, emotional and mental well-being revolving around specific in-person and digital strategies in the area of mindset, movement, nutrition and recovery. The principle goal is to measurably enhance the health and wellness of athletes after they play professional football. The Captain will work side-by-side with former NFL players who served as team player representatives, on the executive committee, or as locker room leaders for the NFLPA during their careers. This position will collaborate closely with the Senior Captain to engage former players in the NFLPA Lifecycle Program. RESPONSIBILITIES: ?Host local events to promote social engagement with former players and report player participation to VEBA staff and Athletes? Performance ?Participate in national Lifecycle events ?Facilitate all communications to former players on behalf of the VEBA staff and Lifecycle partners including initial engagement in the Lifecycle program, invitations to events, evaluation follow-up, and periodic check-in with participants ?Help former players engage in the ?resources and tools? provided by the Initiative ?Liaise directly with the VEBA staff, the NFLPA Former Player Department, and other designated NFLPA staff members. ?Be available to answer specific questions on the overall Initiative REQUIREMENTS: ?Has played 4 seasons in the NFL ?Athlete has worked as a team representative ?Athlete can demonstrate bandwidth in the former player community ?Athlete has a functional relationship with the NFLPA ?Athlete is familiar with and/or an alumnus of Athletes? Performance and the scope of services offered by Athletes? Performance ?Regionally based position ? Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Far West ?Athlete has completed their bachelor?s degree (or is in the process of completing) EOE M/F/D/V Athletes' Performance/Core Performance conducts a Background Check
