SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Technical Architect (TA) will be responsible for successfully integrating salesforce.com with other
systems and developing custom extensions to the salesforce.com product. In this capacity the TA
will be an expert in salesforce.com integration and extension, features, designing solutions, using
the salesforce.com API, APEX and other tools that extend the product. They must be able to lead a
technical requirements gathering session, write requirements and technical architecture documents
and manage the integration. Willingness to accommodate travel, and comfortable in a developer or data management consultant-type role in a customer-facing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Engage with customers to understand their integration requirements, design and document the appropriate solution.
Work effectively with customers, partners and colleagues and develop strong working relationships.
Contribute to established best practices through experience garnered from customer engagements.
Effectively manage time and people to deliver project components.
Provide status reports and raise issues on a timely basis.
Author and deliver Design Documents, Statements of Work, white papers, and knowledgebase articles
Proactively identify and communicate potential issues and/or risks
Support sales efforts by looking for opportunities to increase sales of Cast Iron Systems products and services.
Utilize extended Cast Iron (CI) resources effectively (sales, engineering, product marketing, etc.)
Comfortable leading and managing developers on a project in a team lead capacity.
Extensive experience in systems integration from an architectural and development standpoint
Experience with project lifecycles from conception through to delivery
Understand issues regarding scalability, reliability and performance optimization within distributed architectures
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Ability to develop, create and design proto-type programming/developer code
Excellent written and communication skills
Strong customer focus and consultative skills ? must be able to define customer problems and articulate current situation to customers
Extensive experience in writing Visualforce and Apex code
A track record of high performance and exceeding customer expectations
Experience with project management and requirements gathering techniques
Ability to work and learn in both supervised and non-supervised environments
EAI, middleware, or other integration experience at the enterprise level (TIBCO, webMethods, BEA WebLogic, J2EE/JMS)
ERP integration experience (Oracle Applications, SAP, PeopleSoft, JDE, Baan, QAD, Siebel, or other CRM)
E-Commerce (Portal Applications, B2C, B2C, B2E or other)
Business Process Management ? understanding of different industries and common business processes in industries
At least 1 year hands on development experience with the salesforce.com API.
At least 1 year hands on development writing Visualforce and Apex code.
Completion of several salesforce.com integration and extension projects in development and lead technical roles.
Knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM, SFA, and ERP.
Proven ability to design and optimize business processes and to integrate business processes across disparate systems.
Experience with Enterprise Integration tools.
Extensive experience with Extract, transformation and load tools.
Demonstrated deployments of enterprise software systems using industry standard environments including XML, HTTP/HTTPS, Java, C++, and ASP.
Thorough understanding of XML, SQL, and enterprise application integration.
Work experience with a professional consulting organization (e.g., Big 5 consulting) a plus.
Willingness to travel nationally.
Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies.
This is a leadership role requiring extraordinary client facing skills with the ability to solve the client?s needs and manage scope in a positive way. Many technical candidates do not have the client facing skills to perform this role effectively.
Must be able to organize and lead client sessions that involve non-technical resources that result in clear requirements and technical design. Must be able to generate client signoff and commitment to these designs and the solution.
B.S. in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work

8 or more years of experience managing external client projects in positions of increasing responsibility in the delivery of business consulting, systems development, and systems.
