Position Summary:

This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and leadership skills. You will understand Kit digitals market offering and our strategy and act in ways that help translate this strategy into reality. You are commercially and organizationally savvy and not nave about how business and clients are won, kept, and made profitable.

You will have a proven broad level of knowledge of enterprise technologies such as Microsoft, Unix and Linux operating systems, virtualization, systems infrastructure, networking, security, storage, and the web.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-on architecture of complex solutions and leading technical teams to achieve successful delivery (on budget, on date, on spec)
When not active on project delivery, help to materially improve iokos managed service competence by initiating and managing programs of change e.g. best practice around a subject or drive R&D initiatives
Identifying emerging trends or technologies that could impact us in the future
Recommend effective solutions to highly complicated business requirements and technical issues
Act as THE key member of project delivery teams and a go--to technical resource for Client Directors, Technical Project Managers and clients
Creating the architecture and design of the systems and justification of the solution to clients and/or 3rd parties
Communication of architecture and design to the team and supporting them in implementing it
Troubleshooting challenges when they occur in a client environment or system, coordinating , expert on-the-ground technical response
Diagnosing complex technical environments by exuding technical credibility and quickly diagnosing problems and identifying solutions
Working on the technical aspects of proposal writing and proposing and pitching technical solutions

Requirements:

10+ years experience designing, building and supporting a variety of commercial, complex, enterprise systems with substantial client facing and team management experience
Deep technical skills across several enterprise technologies and a good breadth across many technologies
Have worked closely with senior business people on requirements analysis and solution proposition
Have big architecture experience - i.e. able to think about multiple streams of design and how they tie together
Be committed to design, build and deployment excellence
Already delivered several reasonably large, complex infrastructure projects (500K+)
Produced proposals for large and highly complex high--value bids
Managed customer engagements, both technical and commercial issues, in changeable environments
Established and exploited industry best practice (tools and processes)
Strong communication and presentation skills

Technical Skills:

Expert on multiple vendor and technology storage solutions such as EMC Clariions, BlueArc NAS
Expert on multiple o/s technologies such as MS Windows and/or Linux and/or Solaris
Deep technical knowledge and experience of Java middleware and their containers such as Tomcat/Weblogic/Websphere etc
Deep technical knowledge and experience of one or more content management systems (CMS) such as Magnolia/Vignette etc
Deep technical knowledge and experience of video delivery/streaming technologies over IP networks
Deep technical knowledge and experience of IP networking
Knowledge and experience of data caching appliances and devices
Knowledge and experience of RDBMS (Oracle/Postgres/MySQL) systems
Knowledge and experience of writing code in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, BASH, PowerShell etc
Operational awareness of managed services and ITIL best practices including incident, change and problem management
