Gathers documents and analyzes business system/user requirements. Performs walk-throughs of developed applications and/or system enhancements to assure they meet the feature and functional goals of the project. Assess solutions provided by software development teams along with business users for validity against requirements. Relies on business experience, judgment and knowledge of commonly used procedures to plan and accomplish project goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks including creation of business rules and system functionality using an XPath like language.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Understanding business process management and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific software requirements for enhancements to existing applications.
Elicit requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process modeling, use cases, scenarios and business workflow analysis.
Document & manage requirement changes & their causes through project/product life cycle.
Verify, validate and attain approval on gathered requirements.
Assist the Quality Services team for system, integration, functional and user acceptance testing of developed applications.
Manage projects to deadlines and schedules, manage resources in accordance with project, maintain project schedule and work with customer Project Management from project kick-off through implementation to production.
Provides implementation services, including application documentation and training, formulation of training/implementation plans, deployment within the business, and handoff to Support Services.
Provides initial post implementation support of newly rolled out applications and works with users to help them troubleshoot and resolve problems on their own.
Develop business rules, NAV, scrubs using macro-language according to defined specifications.
Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Become a subject matter expert on data, system, processes, and business methodologies.
Such other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Education and Experience
BS or MS in Business or Computer Science.
Life and Annuity insurance background helpful but not required.
Life insurance company operations experience a plus
Familiar with life insurance and annuity products.
Experience with distribution and administration systems.
Familiarity with ACORD life insurance standards a plus.
Familiarity with XML a plus.
Familiarity with DTCC/IPS operations a plus.
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Demonstrated aptitude towards analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to assess relevant facts, identify alternative approaches and supply recommended solutions.
