POSITION SUMMARY
This Technical Business Analyst is responsible for the management of the Training Services Group virtual machine environments including application and installation, application and module upgrades/patches/fixes, database refreshes, and overall day to day management and maintenance. This role is also responsible for understanding the data requirements for learning solutions designed and/or supported by the Training Services Group to support both standard and custom training delivery scenarios. This includes the full scope of data planning, data confirmation and data entry for Application, Administration and/or Custom Training delivery to internal staff, client end users, trainers and technical staff as well as partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Maintain Training Services Passport environments. This requires current knowledge of Passport releases to create upgrade paths for the Training Services environments or installation plans for new modules. This role is responsible for collaborating with other departments for issue tracking and resolution, creating database backups and product packages, maintaining backups, and managing restore
Maintain concurrent level of knowledge regarding planned patches designed to address product bugs and defects. Work directly with other departments to understand features and functionality impacted and ensure training resources are updated and data reflects planned releases
Managing training environments to support the delivery of Standard Training Packages, documentation construction and system demonstrations. This includes refreshing environments from database copies and ensuring environments are up to date with the most recent product releases
Architect data plans for clients who have purchased customized training based on their configured solutions to support courses designed by the Instructional Designer
Maintain the Training Services Operational Passport environment
Additional Responsibilities:
Propose, design, and implement product upgrades and installations for Training Services environments
Manage data to support innovative learning solutions
Ensure the final data deliverables are the highest quality
Develop and maintain relationships with all departments to ensure educational relevance and training endeavors succeed
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or a related field.
Desired Experience:
Minimum 3 years of development experience, minimum 1 year of JAVA or .NET experience
Minimum 1 year of client facing support or consulting role
Minimum 3 years of experience with at least one type of relational database (SQL Server, Oracle or Sybase)
Minimum 1 year experience with Apache Tomcat and IIS
Mixed front-end and back-end skills
SQL Server or Oracle development experience
Web development experience, JavaScript and Java server-side technologies (J2SE/J2EE)
Experience with Groovy, JRuby, Drools/Drools Flow, JBPM/JBOSS or JQuery is a plus
Experience managing enterprise software a plus
Experience with legal software such as matter and spend management a plus
Demonstrated research and analysis skills
Strong level of professionalism, executive presence and credibility
Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Expert with Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, multiple sets of deliverables as well as the ability to accurately estimate level of effort and delivery dates

Ability to travel up to 25%
