Famo.us is looking for a technical community manager who is passionate about building and growing an open source community around groundbreaking web and mobile development technologies. You have the technical chops to be a coder, but you prefer to spend most of your time interacting with and supporting fans and stakeholders. This role will focus on working with the our engineering team to bring light to issues seen by the developer community, and at times even to create educational content for them. Our ideal candidate has a good understanding of web technology concepts, and can translate engineering concepts into those at different levels of understanding.
You manage, interact with, and support our private beta participants.
You respond in a timely manner to inquiries on forums regarding tutorials, documentation, and general use of famo.us?s platform.
You point users to the appropriate resources, and relay larger questions to the engineering team.
You have experience in customer service, social media, and community development?ideally for rapid-growth startups.
You have done technical blogging, worked through programming tutorials, and have a strong presence in an online oss community (IRC, Freenode, Google Groups, etc).
You are a confident communicator, experienced writer published on the web and have a high participation on coding forums.
You are detail-oriented: a master of tone, voice, and visual elements that impact the effectiveness of outreach and content.
You are structured, methodical, even obsessive in managing relationships and follow-ups.
You are creative in leveraging social channels, emails and product to build a loyal core contingent of early adopters.
You love sharing knowledge and should love helping and supporting others with empathy and authenticity.
You are excited to interface with our growing community, are a fan of famo.us (and maybe have even been to our meetups).
