POSITION: â€"Technical Consultant â€" Infor Storefront
Specialized Technical Knowledge and Skills
- General knowledge of programming procedures.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages including;
- Java/J2SE, Java/J2EE â€" EJB, JSP, Servlets, and Web Services based on J2EE architecture, JavaScript.
- Struts, Spring and Hibernate knowledge
- Eclipse workspace environment
- HTML, CSS, DHTML, XML, AJAX
- J2EE Application Server Configuration â€" One or more of the following
- IBM WebSphere
- Tomcat
- Comfortable working in Windows Server and Microsoft Windows:
- MS SQL Server â€" SQL and stored procedures (Microsoft Transact SQL)
- MS IIS, ISAPI, Load balancing
- Advantageous Skills
- DB2 knowledge is not necessary but plus.
- Ariba, Peoplesoft, OCI SAP punchout capabilities
- Web services and WSDL development
- OOD (object oriented development) concepts and UML (Unified Modeling Language)
- Experience in enterprise architecture/data related disciplines, i.e. data modeling, architecture, and integration
- Experience Implementing Web and Application Server Clusters.
- Understanding of Ecommerce, shopping carts, customer service,
- General communications, presentation, organizational and planning skills. Good interpersonal skills to work as a team member and as a liaison with customers. Proficient PC skills. Professional appearance and presentation required.

SUMMARY:
Basic PurposeWorks as a consulting team member or an individual technical consultant on for-fee product creation, enhancement, or integration projects with Infor Storefront suite. The product training on the aforementioned software packages will be provided by existing knowledge on the aforementioned packages is a huge plus. Expertise and work efforts focus on the programming and development of new products or the customization of existing products. Duties usually performed remotely. Typically reports to a Programming Billable Consulting Manager or to a Field Billable Consulting Manager. Usually requires 18 months to three years of experience in product design, product development, technical product support, or consulting with expertise and skill in one or more programming languages
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities80% Works on non-complex projects, usually involving single-product or single computer environments. Expertise and work efforts focus on the programming and development of new products or the customization of existing products.
* Develops applications or customizes applications to meet customers' needs.
*80% of the technical consultant's time is billable out of a standard 2080 hour year.
* Estimates time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project; develops project plan incorporating all project variables.
* Sees that appropriate company resources are assigned to complete project tasks according to plan. Establishes criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs.
* Conducts periodic status checks with manager and team to assess progress against plan.
10% Serves as intermediate-level pre-sales and post-sales technical support specialist when needed.
10% Acts as a liaison between customers and company.
Required Skills:
Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work ExperienceBachelor's degree in computer science. Usually requires 18 months to three years of experience in product design, product development, technical product support, or consulting with expertise and skill in one or more programming languages.
