Description:As a Director of Software Engineering you will utilize strong management and technical competencies to set objectives, develop architectures and implementation strategies for the Core Software Engineering group. You will provide direction and leadership to both Managers and Engineering professionals focused on building next generation Ethernet Access solutions. As part of the overall Engineering, team we focus is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market.
Duties:
Design, develop and implement software and software architectures for leading edge Ethernet Access platforms.
Provide technical and team leadership for subordinate technical managers: L2 Data Path and Protocols team using state of the art L2 network processor and Platform/OS team (linux) using state of the art multi-core MIPS & ARM microprocessors
Work collaboratively with other senior managers to establish architectures, project plans, strategic plans and project objectives.
Interface with theHardware Development Team
Interface with the FPGA (Data Path) Development Team
Lead your team to successful and timely completion.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across many levels to achieve corporate business objectives.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of building/developing a top-notch engineering team and providing technical leadership for complex telecom/datacom solutions.
Small company culture is a plus.
