This market is actively seeking cost effective solutions to move their desktop websites (think WordPress or WiX) to mobile. Responsive is not the answer. The best way to view a website on mobile is with a powerful app that you own and can maintain yourself.
There are a few million developers using complex programming languages today that can build native mobile applications. There are well over 100M people worldwide that can build an app with AppMachine.
AppMachine has recently opened offices in the US and hired a very senior mobile industry executive to grow the US operations. The candidate would report directly to this Managing Director. The position will ultimately be in an office in San Francisco but will initially require the candidate to work from his or her own home office for a few months.
The day-to-day activities of this position are varied (you won't be bored!). This is a customer-facing position, so the candidate should be outgoing and personable. The applicant will be required to handle all support requirements in the US, including email and phone support for prospective and new clients. We will ultimately build a team here to support the market, but this is the 1st.
The position requires the occasional creation and delivery of technical presentations to customers and at technical events. They will also occasionally be required to deliver a webinar, conduct Meetup sessions or create training videos for the website. Would require 1 to several trips per year to the Netherlands for training.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
12 months of release, over 80,000 people position.
Resolve support queries, both by phone and email
Support the business development team by providing technical answers to prospective and current clients, both on-site and remotely
Conduct webinars and Meetups
Participate in trade events
Create training videos
Might involve up to 20% travel
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong experience with RESTful APIs, Node, JSP, ASP.NET.
Excellent customer engagement skills.
Complete command of the English language. Public speaking experience
Would be highly desirable.
Flexible, adaptable. Must be the ability to occasionally jump on a plane to go solve a problem.
Strong desire to work in a young, high-energy startup environment.
Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent comprehensive experience.
Willingness to have lots of fun.
