Liquidnet is looking for an exceptional software developer to join the Capital Markets Technology team. We are responsible for building a technology platform that allows a community of companies, venture capitalists, and institutional investors to exchange equity for capital in both public and private markets. We are an expert team of agile software engineers and each member takes on part of the responsibility to own and deliver crucial features to help grow this new and exciting business. As part of the technology team, you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including product design, architecture and system design, development, testing, deployment, and support, as well as learn the business of Raising Capital, Equity Trading, and the broader Financial Services industry.
Our suite of end-user products run on Web and Mobile platforms, written with state of the art open-source technologies based on HTML5, JavaScript, NoSQL, and a RESTful Service Oriented Architecture based on Spring, Apache CXF, and Hibernate.
You are a good fit for this role if:
You?ve studied Computer Science or Engineering in college.
You are an expert in Java and have at least a few years of experience.
You?re curious about functional programming and have experimented with a functional language such as Clojure, Scala, F#, Haskell, or Erlang.
You will use Eclipse or Visual Studio but have a subversive desire to revert to vim or emacs.
You want experience working with BAs, Designers, Testers, Sales people, Subject Matter Experts, System Admins, and others in a cross-functional team.
You want to be recognized and rewarded for your hard work and contribution to a project.
You are an even better fit for this role if:
You?ve built MVC websites using nodejs, Rails, Grails, Django, or ASP.NET MVC and are a fan of jQuery.
You?re a regular user of StackOverflow and GitHub.
You?ve contemplated or have built an iPhone, Android, Blackberry, or Windows phone app in your spare time.
You?ve experimented running applications on Heroku, Amazon EC2, RackSpace, Slicehost, or Google App Engine.
