Technical Lead- Search Elance

In this role, you will:
Set the vision and the technical direction for search architecture
Improve the search experience, including indexing, retrieval, relevance ranking, spelling correction, and query classification
Develop a training and quality measurement strategy
Lead a group of hungry, brilliant engineers to develop the next generation of search capabilities for Elance
Help design and implement features that will be used by millions of people every day
To win in this role, you need:
6+ years experience designing and programming in Java and developing object-oriented distributed software systems
4+ years of experience working with open source search software (Lucene/Solr/Elastic Search)
Deep knowledge of various search algorithms
Experience with machine learning, NLP, A/B testing, statistical analysis, Big Data (Map-Reduce, Hadoop), web crawling is highly desirable
Experience with all aspects of software development lifecycle
Strong analytical abilities and exceptional problem-solving skills
Knowledge of design patterns, object-oriented frameworks in a service-oriented architecture
A Bachelors? or Master's in computer science or related field is required
The desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
