Technical Marketing Engineer Palo Alto Networks

As a Technical Marketing engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a key role in providing detailed technical information to our partners, our customers, and our internal employees. You will be working with cutting edge network security technology and with the brightest engineering minds in the industry. You will part of the group that is in the forefront of innovation in the network security market. In this role, you will be creating technical collateral of all kinds including beta support â€" before products go live educating users pre-release, creating white papers and other presentations, creating technical training videos, writing performance guidelines to help SE's sell the right box at the right price, doing competitive market analysis to understand what distinguishes our technology from others and relaying this to Systems and Sales Engineers. Over time, this role can help you move in time toward being a product manager, product marketer, consulting systems engineer, or doing business development.
Responsibilities:

• Work with system engineers and customers on complex deployments to help ensure successful product deployment
• Be the subject matter expert on the product to help system engineers with product related questions
• Help manage new product beta testing with large enterprise and service provider customers, ensuring successful product introduction
• Utilize performance test equipment to validate device performance
• Document tech notes for others to use
• Work closely with product management on product feedback for future improvements
• Develop and deliver competitive positioning strategies

Qualifications:

• 3+ years' experience in layer2 and Layer3 networking
• Some hands on experience in configuring routers and or switches
• Hands on experience of using Unix systems
• The candidate should have a strong ambition to learn and drive new technologies in an always involving environment.
• The candidate should be curious and eager to learn new product and leverage the finding to provide valuable inputs to engineering or overall TME and Product Management organization
• Good presentation skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Education:

• BS or equivalent experience required
