Job Description:
Technical Product Managers at HighJump Software are primarily responsible for driving development for product(s) that they manage. Taking high-level direction from the product strategy organization, they manage release planning, detailed requirement development and development oversight. Working with other groups in the organization to ensure products meet market demands and to overcome issues that arise relating to the product(s) they manage.
Primary responsibilities related to the product(s) under management include collaboration with product strategy to set yearly revenue planning and then realization of that plan, market research, product content, product training, and sales support. Individuals must work closely with Product Development, Operations, Sales and Alliances and must be a strong evangelist for their product(s).
Specific Responsibilities include:
Product Development Oversight
Oversee development of products to ensure product correctness and success. Following Agile development practices -
Identification of functional requirements (stories)
Release planning
Participate in kickoffs, reviews and planning meetings
Optionally attend SCRUMs
Product acceptance
User Personas, Use Cases and Scenarios
Documentation, training requirement mapping and acceptance
Research ? Market and Technology
Work with customers, product strategy, partners and analysts to ensure ongoing understanding of overall market and specific product feature requirements.
Investigate technology options for product footprint
Prototype solution options for product footprint
Buy, build, partner decision management
Collaborate with others in the organization on financial, business and market implications
Collaboration with Product Strategy and Marketing and Sales
Work with product strategy regarding the strategic directives for products under management
Provide pre-sales assistance and sales strategy formulation on key accounts
Keep appraised of competitors and determine appropriate responses.
Act as input source for strategy / marketing in their efforts to drive the selection and creation of sales tools and collateral for product(s) under management.
Collaborate with product strategy to establish direction and formulate the product features for the next version(s) of products.
Represent (as needed) company in dealings with industry analysts, editors, partners and other organizations.
Required:
Agile product owner experience a plus
Software product management experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Supply chain market knowledge a plus
