Primary Objective of Position:
As Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative, differentiated, best-in-class products and services, leveraging deep customer insights and knowledge of the competitive landscape. You will own the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including developing business cases and business justification, synthesizing and prioritizing input from internal and external stakeholders, designing new services and product features, defining the customer experience, and working closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver product releases to market.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers and business owners to prioritize and rationalize requirements based on factors including business value, cost to deliver, time constraints, etc.
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
Develop business process models, use cases, and scenarios to be used by development and quality assurance teams for functional specifications and test cases
Develop visualization, user experience and configuration elements of solution design
Lead cross-functional teams with respect to requirements interpretation, product decisions, specification reviews, customer satisfaction issues, bug reviews, and scheduling fixes
Identifies and communicates risks and issues that may require changes to plans or scope
Manage changes to requirements and assess impacts of these changes
Reconcile conflicts in requirements
Be the voice of the customer internally to ensure customer specifications are met during development
Participate in the review and approval process for functional specifications/designs and quality assurance test plans to ensure traceability to documented requirements
Obtain business and functional requirement sign-off from business owners and customers
Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and other functional areas to plan and prioritize product deliverables and release schedules
Execute and coordinate requirements management and change management processes
Assist in articulating product value proposition and become an internal product expert
Train internal stakeholders
Minimum Job Qualifications:
7 years of business analysis or consulting experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience in use case diagramming, business process mapping, sequence and activity diagramming, and UML required.
BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical degree; MBA preferred
Extensive experience with reviewing business requirements and developing functional requirements for software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions
Excellent business function and process analysis and visualization skills
Extensive knowledge of web standards, design, and usability
Familiarity with web-based application development and technologies like J2EE, .NET, XML, etc.
Knowledgeable of all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Highly organized, even in a rapidly changing environment
Excellent presentation skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and self-motivated
Effective in cross-functional team environments
Passionate about building great products with a detailed focus on the user experience
Fun, energetic, flexible personality
Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Experience with analytics and business intelligence software a plus
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) a plus
