Technical Project Manager Laszlo Systems
Laszlo Systems provides licensed Web 2.0 Rich Internet Applications with innovative and effective user experiences to customers who deploy them for thousands or millions of users. Customers typically require custom branding, extensions and integration with back-end systems. Laszlo is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager, based in San Mateo, California, to work effectively with select customers for large-scale project implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as primary project contact on specific enterprise accounts.
- Conduct regular client facing project communication meetings.
- Provide regular project and account status to project team and executive team.
- Set and manage customer expectations on project milestones & schedule.
- Provide leadership in facilitating task scoping, pricing and development of custom solutions.
- Perform project planning, project execution & monitoring functions. Tasks include creation and maintenance of the up-to-date project plan, project schedule, issue tracking/resolution and status reports, and cost tracking to both internal & external project team members.
- Work with a cross functional team including Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, Professional Services, Finance, Customer Support, IT, QA and clients to ensure all critical components for project success through the full life-cycle are accounted for and incorporated into project plans.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical degree.
- Fluent in English and Chinese or French, additional languages a plus.
- Highly developed negotiation, facilitation, presentation and consensus building skills.
- 3+ years in customer facing roles (account management, project management, etc).
- 2+ years experience working in/with a software product development organization.
- 2+ years experience of deployment support for large enterprise application rollout
PMP certified is preferred.
- Experience with any of the following area is a plus: digital content management, web analytics, CRM, Telco convergent messaging solution, Work flow system, web production, search applications, social media portal or mobile development.
- Strong critical thinking, analytic and problem solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience writing detailed requirements & release note documentation.
- Strong understanding of Internet technologies such as Java servlet containers, Tomcat, SQL, HTML, XML, JavaScript, Unix shell scripts.
