Overview:

The Technical Proposal Writer will ensure the quality, consistency and professionalism of RFP and RFI responses to prospective customers. The Technical Proposal Writer manages the internal RFP response process and cross-functional response teams (subject matter experts) to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables meet TOA?s high quality standards. The Technical Proposal Writer is responsible for evaluating RFPs/RFIs, defining roles and responsibilities, developing and driving internal timelines and copyediting final documents for technical accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, tone and style.

The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They must demonstrate mastery of the English language (grammar, punctuation, mechanics) with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for producing RFP/RFI responses that convey TOA?s unique value proposition and strategically position TOA solutions and services.

Manage the efforts of cross-functional response teams (subject matter experts) throughout the proposal preparation process.

Provide guidance to response teams based upon an understanding of the proposal/RFP preparation process and experience with previous proposal/RFP projects.

Develop and drive internal production schedules to ensure external deadlines are met.

Provide frequent, regular milestone and status updates to response teams and leadership.

Maintain and continually develop a proposal/RFP database for frequently-used and approved RFP content.

Develop, implement, and continually assess processes to streamline proposal development and enhance quality.

Research, write and validate unique proposal/RFP responses, as needed, to support Sales and subject matter experts.

Shepherd documents/deliverables through a multi-step executive review process, ensuring version control.

Perform other/additional duties and projects that may be periodically assigned.

Education:

Bachelor ?s degree is required. Preferred majors include English, Journalism, Communications, IT Technology and/or Technical Writing.

Experience:

5+ years of technical proposal writing/bid management experience in a high-tech environment.

Strong project management skills to coordinate efforts of response teams and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules and commitments.

Knowledge of format/design layout of proposals/RFP & RFI responses.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form successful relationships and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proven ability to present the complex as simple and easy to understand.

General knowledge of Information Technology and use in business.

Ability to establish, communicate and maintain documentation standards.

Ability to provide and accept feedback.

Strong analytical skills.

Must be proactive, flexible and able to switch gears quickly from one project to the next.

Experience using MAC Word a plus.
