Market Force Information is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer for our Atlanta, GA office . This person will work with sales, product marketing, and account management staff to interface with a prospective client?s technical executives to assess integration requirements, direct data integration, and develop basic reporting needs. Additionally, the Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for creating and supporting client demos, standards and technical implementations for Market Force?s state of the art Customer Intelligence Platform and mobile solutions.
This is a key role that requires solid technical skills, business acumen, client relationship building, attention to detail, and leadership ability. Demonstrated experience with hands-on technical implementations and pre-sales engagements are must-haves. Strong project management skills are essential with the ability to interface at the executive level within the company and with our clients. This position will first report to the SVP of Product Management in order to develop the processes and technologies needed to establish the company?s sales engineering function. Once this is complete, the position will report to the Chief Customer Officer and be responsible for leading our technical implementations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with sales, product marketing, DSR?s and account management to assess a prospective client?s technical integration requirements for the Customer Intelligence Platform (CIP)
Work with sales to support technical questions and concerns that arise in the sales process
Help define CIP solutions for individual clients during the sales process to take advantage of platform capabilities, minimize customizations, and help determine feasibility and appropriateness of customizations
Create, customize and maintain sales demos for the CIP
Work closely with Operations, Product Management and Development to on-board new clients via project management, requirements gathering / documentation, configuration, and 3rd party data integration
Develop web and data reporting code to fully integrate a client into the solution as required
Understand the client?s business objectives and deliver a technical roadmap to successfully implement a client
Communicate technical concepts and best practices for implementation to non-technical audiences
Directly interact with clients in person as well as via email and telephone
Work closely with Marketing/Product Management in the design, development, and delivery of the CIP
Promote and reinforce a customer-driven philosophy
Serve as a platform expert for the Norcross office sales, relationships, and client service teams to help answer questions on the CIP platform, support solution development, support client migrations, and support training where appropriate

BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
3+ years experience in a customer-facing technical position (Sales Engineer or Support Lead)
5+ years experience in full life-cycle software development.
Understanding and ability to model customer data for transactional and data reporting solutions
Passion for delivering high quality products that meet deadlines
Driven to achieve a high level of client and customer satisfaction
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Thought clarity and the ability to provide technical presentations in a logical and structured manner
Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to lead by example
Must be able to travel as required (20-40%)
Experience with highly available production environments preferred
Demonstrated experience in object-oriented programming and design, as well as skills in: Java, J2EE, MVC JSP/Servlet based web applications, Apache/Tomcat
Strong understanding and development experience with common delivery protocols including HTTP, SSL, SMTP, UDP, TCP/IP
Experience with web technologies including the C# language, ASP.NET, ASP, IIS, .NET C#, XML, SOAP
