Technical Sales Support Chemist Plextronics

Full-Time Position

Plextronics seeks a Technical Sales Support Chemist to provide pre- and post-sale technical sales support primarily for customers in Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China).

Please note that the individual who fills this role will reside in Asia with quarterly trips to the United States on an as needed basis.

The Chemist will be responsible for identifying and predicting issues with customers in Printed Electronics (including, but not limited to OLED and OPV). This role will also coordinate efforts with the ink chemists, printing specialists, and Plextronics technology function to solve identified issues.

The Chemist will also:

- Ensure customer satisfaction;
- Interact closely with Plextronics Business Development team in the US and Asia;
- Work closely with ink chemists to plan experiments, analyze data, and determine root causes;
- Work with the Manufacturing Engineering and Shipping/Receiving teams to assure 100 on-time/right first time product shipments.


The successful candidate will have the following education, skills, and experience:

- M.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Physics. Ph.D. is preferred;
- 5-10 years experience as a technologist and technical sales support in Organic Printed Electronics is expected (preferably OLED and/or OPV);
- Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills are required;
- Experience working with customers in Asia is a plus;
- Experience in formulating inks for organic printed electronics is a plus;
- Experience with statistical methods such as design of experiments, process and gage capability and SPC;
- Familiarity with statistical software such as Minitab or JMP.
