Technologically advanced glass coater and IGU fabricator seeks experienced Technical Services Manager to support the sales and installation of commercial glazing solutions to architects, engineers, glazing contractors, owners, and general contractors. Primary responsibilities are to manage the Architectural Solutions project management team and support the Sales team at corporate headquarters located in Faribault, Minnesota. Manage all aspects of day to day operations of AS with an emphasis on managing:
Quotation process
Support sales team in technical pre-sales activities
Project management & commissioning
Sample order fulfillment
Manage the quotation process, handle all aspects of quotation process both budget and final.
Pre bid identification with contractors - general, glazing and electrical.
Handle all aspects of quotation process - take offs, optimal pricing redesign, quote model analysis, quote preparation, delivery of documents and base line technical support in regards to the scope of working with the SageGlass product.
Determine appropriate controls system specification.
Post bid follow up, identify awarded contractors and support process through purchase order.
Support the Sales team in technical pre-sales activities to help customers integrate our product into their building designs, framing and controls systems.
Acquire a thorough knowledge of SageGlass products, the company, manufacturing capabilities, limitations and internal infrastructure.
Keep abreast of industry changes, new product offerings, competitive information and general industry news.
Provide assistance to customers on the wiring, zoning, and controlling of our product to maximize energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and USGBC LEED points.
Trade show attendance as required.
Supervise Project management & commissioning of all SAGE projects domestic and international (except Europe)
Direct AS team members in management of projects from customer purchase order to commissioning.
Act as player / coach manage AS team while simultaneously directly managing key projects.
Assign Project Managers (PMs) and maintain project schedule for maximum customer satisfaction.
Coach PMs on proper course of action and communicate with customer directly when appropriate.
Manage custom and standard sample order fulfillment:
Prepare shipments as requested and confirm delivery.
Maintain all inventory items glass, controls, shipment kits.
Mandatory and preferred position requirements:
Comply with SAGEs Business Principles and company policies.
Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, or other relevant technical degree preferred.
Customer centric philosophy and successful management experience.
Must have experience in a technical solution selling environment.
Experience desired in exterior construction products with glass industry or controls background strongly preferred.
Possession of an understanding of the hierarchy of the AEC industry desired.
Proficiency in interpreting construction documents particularly glazing and controls is a plus.
Up to 30 travel (primarily domestic) to construction sites and customers / influencers offices.
Experience in growing technical teams and developing systems / tools to efficiently scale operations is a plus.
