Job Description
Idera is seeking a Senior Technical Support Representative to join our team. If you have excellent problem-solving skills and are independent and self-motivated, yet also highly team-oriented, we want you on our team!
Document and troubleshoot incoming issues reported by customers
Maintain accurate case entries including customer and internal correspondence
Reproduce issues submitted by customers to identify and report bugs to development
Independently develop troubleshooting plans to address complex issues across varied environments
Maintain expertise with product features and common customer implementation scenarios
Work with the development team, product management and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy when reproducing problems submitted by customers
Make recommendations to improve product reliability, performance, and quality within technical support
Exhibit a high degree of enthusiasm for customer service
Manage business critical customer issues with confidence and professionalism
Routinely communicate with customers in a professional and timely manner
Required Skills
Working knowledge of data backup procedures and products
Working knowledge of general information technologies such as VSS, windows registry, networking (TCP/UDP), disk storage technologies such as LVM, MDADM, striping, RAID, etc
Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Apache, SQL lite, etc
Knowledge of and hands on experience with Linux Shell and terminal emulators
Knowledge of and hands on experience with networks and servers supporting systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux/UNIX distros such as Redhat, Suse, Debian, Ubuntu and VMware
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Self starter, ability to work independently and within a team
Ability to multi-task across multiple products within different contexts
Required Experience
Any of the Following Experience/Skills a Plus:
6 months ? 1 year experience with data backup technologies
1 ? 3 years experience with a hosting provider
1 ? 3 years experience in Linux administration
1 ? 3 years experience in Microsoft Windows Server administration
2+ years experience in a technical support / customer service role
