Working in a fast-paced environment, the Technical Support Engineer (TSE) will be responsible for providing level 3 Technical Support for various technologies in Ruckus Wireless products to channel partners, service provider and carriers in the Americas.
Acting as a part of a small team in a growing and exciting startup the TSE is expected to:
Identify customer problems/issues and assist customer in achieving their goals while consistently achieving high Customer satisfaction.
Work on complex problems where analysis of situations requires in-depth fault analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Formulate technical action plans for analyzing and resolving end-to-end solutions.
Identify and reproduce customer technical problems in a test/lab environment.
Escalate specific problems to development engineering for product enhancement.
Generate clear and concise documentation in the form of case notes, technical tips and white papers, including development of a knowledge database.
Desired Skills & Experience
The TSE will work with employees, customers, and VARs to ensure the quality and reliability of the Ruckus product.
Qualifications (Key Skills, Education and Experience):
A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline (Masters preferred).
Minimum of 2 years? experience in designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging and administering some of the following Wireless LAN products and technologies:
Wireless Access Points (LWAPP a plus)
Wireless Client Associations
Wireless Controllers
Understanding of RF transmissions & antenna behavior
WLAN Security in the areas of authentication, encryption, RADIUS, AAA authentication, EAP, PSK, etc.
Solid working experience with 802.11a/b/g/i standards and knowledge of 802.11n.
Linux system administration and configuration experience.
Ability to use protocol analyzers tools such as OmniPeek and Wireshark
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, IGMP, and Routing (Layer 2 & 3 communication)
The following Certifications would be a plus: CWNA, CWSP, CWNE
