Summary
The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for customer support services at Adeptia Inc. This person will provide technical support, trouble shoot and repair customer issues for the Adeptia software products.
Responsibilities
Interact with customers to understand any issues they may be facing in using Adeptia software and then trouble-shoot those problems and suggest solutions and workarounds.
Help customers solve technical issues with our software.
Answer questions from customers and prospective customers about the features and capabilities of our software.
Post responses on the online Adeptia Support Forum and develop customer-facing documentation for our website on an as-needed basis.
Communicate customer needs and wishes to our development and engineering staff.
Assist in the retention of support contracts by offering superior customer support experience.
Work is done primarily via phone, email and online meetings.
Requirements
Understand and appreciate Adeptia culture that customer satisfaction is all important and everyone is expected to do whatever it takes to make our customers successful.
Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills.
Excellent understanding of the technical fundamentals of software applications, databases and the Internet.
Excellent knowledge and experience with software application development and programming languages such as Java and technologies such as XML, SQL etc.
Excellent Windows, Mac & Linux troubleshooting ability.
The ability to be a good listener, and to really understand a customer problem or question and help them solve it.
Strong writing skills and excellent phone manners.
Self-starter who can manage time and set priorities for tasks.
Education: BS or MS degree in computer science or engineering.
Location and hours: Daily presence at Adeptia office in Chicago is required during business hours. Occasional after business hours work is also expected.
