Technical Support Engineer Optovue

This role provides both verbal and written technical and service support to end users, sales representatives and international distributors. This responsibility includes resolving service and technical problems by phone and email response and also performing field service calls at the customer site. All support will be given in accordance with contractual requirements, and by maintaining timely, complete, and accurate problem status data.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing service documentation in the form of memos, service bulletins, spare parts listings, and updates to service manuals.
Maintain service/RMA parts inventories and suggest ways to reduce/consolidate inventory.
Maintain accurate and timely service records in accordance with all regulatory requirements including closing within appropriate timeframe.
Provide solutions to technical problems for customers and distributors.
Provide IT/Network support for customers.
Assist with special projects as required.
Requirements:
AS in Engineering or Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five years experience as a Technical Support Engineer in a related field, or equivalent technical experience in a medical device company.
Should have technical proficiency and excellent problem solving skills and analytical abilities.
The Technical Support Engineer should have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of IT/Networking operations.
Knowledge of Optics theory and functionality desirable but not required.
Experience in Medical Device capital equipment highly desirable.
5-10% travel to customer sites.
