Description:
The Level 3 (L3) Support Engineer reports to the Development Manager and is responsible for the resolving customer issues escalated form our support department to our development team. This position requires frequent contact with customers via telephone and online sessions to diagnose customer issues. No travel is required. Strong troubleshooting skills are a must, as well as the ability to debug software at the code level in a number of languages and environments. The successful candidate will be a self-directed, process-oriented individual with strong verbal and written communications skills. This is an entry level development position ideal for hungry engineers looking for an opportunity to build their skillset and move on to other areas of software development within the company.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with the support and development teams to diagnose, debug and resolve escalated customer issues
Create and deliver software hotfixes when appropriate
Submit discovered product defects to Microsoft and our other partners and track them to their resolution
Respond to customer issues submitted to Scribe?s product forums
Build a knowledge of Scribe?s products and technology
Required Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to speak, write, and communicate in English
Strong troubleshooting skills in the Windows environment including knowledge of Active Directory, networking, security, IIS, ODBC
Strong ?people-skills? working in high pressure technical situations
Strong component debugging and troubleshooting skills in the Windows / .Net environment using C# and C++
Other Desired Skills:
Data migration and/or integration experience
Familiarity with CRM or ERP applications a plus (Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics (CRM, GP, NAV, AX, SL), Sage (ACT!, SalesLogix, Peachtree, MAS90, MAS200, MAS500), SAP, QuickBooks
SQL/database skills with MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle or DB2
Experience with WCF or other Web Service technologies
Experience with VB.Net, VB6, X++, CAL or other application specific languages
Prior training and consulting experience.

Experience/Education:
BA/BS Degree in computer related course of study
Software development experience on the Windows platform using Microsoft tools and technologies.
