Position Title: Technical Service Rep Tier III - Austin, TX

The Austin Advanced Services Network Operations Center is looking for qualified candidates for the Tier III Support Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to)
Accept escalations and investigate and resolve complex and pre-engineering level issues for SMB & Enterprise clients over an MPLS environment.
Troubleshooting Layer 1-4 of the OSI model and simple to complex customer routing and performance issues across national network footprint.
Candidates will be expected to think outside the box and research issues related to packet-loss, QOS, performance throughput, system interoperability and then document the investigation and resolution of custom configuration issues.
Moves, Adds, Changes & Disconnects: MACD is also a function of the group. Occasional after hours testing is required. On-Call situations on a case-by-case basis.
Will interface with our Tier II and next level engineering teams to gather and escalate information of the issues accordingly.
Ability to handle multiple issues and prioritize cases ? excellent customer communication skills
Advanced understanding of legacy transport systems such as Redbacks, Cisco ASR, Dslam technology, OC3 & DS3 Sub-interface Subscriber builds in VRF environment.
Advanced understanding of ILEC Services and Central Office testing. Knowledge of carrier encapsulations, routed and bridged devices, and clear channel a plus.
Develop take away training for Tier II and Internal teams for future reference or corrective & preventative measures.
Attention to detail with excellent written and documentation skills ? process driven
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates will be versatile in all aspects of IP routing and network connectivity to include:
Access types
Remote Access Dial up, ISDN, Dedicated and Line-share DSL, T1, EOC, Cable, Wireless solutions, PPPOE, MLPPP, MFR, radius authentication connections
Layer 2 solutions
ARP, ATM, VPI/VCI, VPN-IPSEC, MPLS, GRE Tunnels, Ethernet VLAN
Layer 3 IP Routing & Routed Protocols
TCP-IP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, PBR, Point to Point Multi-point, VRF, Dual routed back-up solutions,Static routing.
Enhanced Services MSS ? Managed Security Services
Firewall Ingress / Egress, IP/URL filtering, Content Filtering, White/Black list, Radius Authentications, VDOM
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Nokia/Nortel Aggregate Nodes, Network + will be highly considered.
5+ years routing and carrier experience within an IP environment.
Scripting and coding a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Constant computer typing and use of mouse.
Near constant sitting at workstation.
Near constant use of telephone with headset.
NOC 24/7 Customer Service Environment
