Overview:
This position is responsible for curriculum development, training coordination, and training delivery for e-procurement software. This individual will work on a small team consisting of training and technical writing professionals. This person must be an exceptionally strong communicator, and must understand software from a conceptual perspective.
This person will be responsible for both internal and external (customer/partner) training sessions, as well as train-the-trainer sessions for internal staff. Solid knowledge of adult learning strategies, as well as effective curriculum development is required.
This role works very closely with many different Individuals and groups at SciQuest, therefore interpersonal skills are very important. Planning and organization skills, as well as business acumen, are key to the success of this role.
Principal Responsibilities:
Development and delivery of client training webinars and classroom training classes. Training sessions/courses may be standard, repeatable modules, customized training, or new product modules.
Gather information from different groups within the organization (Product Development, Support, Marketing, etc) to prepare training program.
Design course content, product demonstrations, job/training aids, and criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training.
Continuously update materials to ensure they reflect new product features and best practices.
Design, creation, and publication of product training videos (Snippets).
Serve as back up for technical writers in the creation of technical documentation or content editor.
Serve as a product expert; maintaining a high level of involvement in all new releases of SciQuest product releases.
Maintain website used for release-related information and training/webinar sign-up.
Coordination and setup for webinars and training events.
Preparing for and conducting New Employee Training, as well as, detailed module-specific training sessions for internal staff.
Managing small projects, in addition to primary job. In addition to the primary job functions, this role is oftentimes responsible for new initiatives, and the person must be willing to take on new challenges and multi-task.
Position Requirements:
Professional presentation skills including the ability to deliver in-depth technical content with enthusiasm
Ability to learn complex, difficult concepts with minimal assistance
Solid knowledge of the instructional design and curriculum development process
The ability to work independently. This is a new position and requires initiative and creativity from the candidate.
Excellent written communication skills ? The ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts, and to edit materials from others.
Exceptional planning and organization skills.
Demonstrated experience developing and performing product demonstrations and training instruction/courses. (3+ years required).
Ability to multi-task and work under demanding deadlines.
Experience with Procurement industry a plus.
Strong to expert knowledge of the following applications:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
DreamWeaver (or other HTML editing software)
MS Excel and Visio, and other graphic design programs a plus
MadCap Flare or other online Help software
Captivate or other video training software
Bachelor?s degree in Communication, English, or equivalent
Client-focused attitude ? a customer advocate
Team player with solid communication skills
