Liquidnet is seeking a User Experience Design Expert to help us re-imagine the future of finance. This person will play a key role in applying interaction design and prototyping techniques to evolve product offerings from concepts to reality.
The designer will work with a cross-functional team of developers, testers, business analysts, and others to create products and services for the institutional investment community and other financial market participants. This designer will work across teams to share knowledge and expertise to solve complex web and application design challenges.
Key responsibilities include interaction design, visual design, information architecture, and supporting front-end developers implementing the UI.
The position requires a combination of user experience design skills, strong visual design skills, and knowledge of UI technology.
Responsibilities
Understand product goals by working with users, stakeholders, and team leads.
Design interaction frameworks from a holistic perspective, which display data and information in clear and creative ways.
Create beautiful, functional, creative, and modern visual designs that complement existing branding.
Communicate the design to developers and work with them to implement the UI.
Qualifications
3 ? 5 years experience designing software interfaces
Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills
Firm grasp of visual design principles and practices
Extremely proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator
Strong understanding of technology and the product development lifecycle
Formal training in Visual Design and/or Interaction Design or related disciplines is a plus
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus

?is extremely proficient at creating pixel-perfect mockups in Illustrator and Photoshop.

?can communicate design to front-end developers and explain the thinking behind the design.
?can create different ways to visualize data and display complex information, and understands the tradeoffs of different design options.
?is familiar with how different UI technologies render interfaces and know how to account for this in your design.
?is able to follow the visual style of existing products, as well as add improvements to the visual style that fit with the company?s brand image.
?knows how to communicate well with people in a variety of roles, including sales, technology, and product support.
