We're looking for a technical writer to develop, deliver and maintain our API documentation. As a member of our product group, this role participates directly in an Agile development team and is responsible for articulating clear reference implementations as well as detailed method-level instruction. The intended audience includes engineers and merchants with a wide range of technical competency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Further develop our user-friendly API documentation framework
Write detailed API reference specifications as well as general API guidance
Validate API features through functional testing
Generate reference implementations using JSON, XML and SOAP
Actively participate in the Scrum process
Contribute to doc and product usability testing with third- party developers
Revise and publish content in response to feedback and usability analysis
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years experience writing for developers and engineers
Demonstrated success in designing, writing, and delivering technical documentation
Commanding understanding of SOA and REST
Highly competent at using development and automation tools to develop test scenarios and validate implementations
Extreme attention to detail
Comfortable writing technical specifications in an approachable tone
Advocate for product improvements and usability
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
