Who We Want:
As Technical Writer, you will be a pivotal member of a highly talented global research and development team, focused on delivering high-quality content that empowers our clients and inspires them to do more with our solutions. You won?t do it alone; in this role, you will enjoy the support of fellow technical writers as well as a network of passionate subject matter experts. We?re a close-knit team, working on a rapidly evolving suite of products, and we?re seeking someone who is ready to bring creativity and enthusiasm to help us take our client experience to the next level.
We are looking for someone who understands how to make technical instructions clear and concise. Our clients need to be able to quickly and easily integrate our solutions with their websites. The ideal candidate will therefore have a solid background in authoring technical integration guides, including API, SDK, and code integration instructions.
Our team of writers provides input and opinions as the product evolves through its lifecycle, and it is responsible for the information and resources clients receive upon shipment of the product. You?ll enjoy influence and have a respected voice during this process.
How Your Success Will Be Measured
Success will be measured by the following factors:
New products ship with top-notch integration information.
Clients highly rate the quality of the information we provide.
Support cases tied to questions or inquiries about our products decrease over time.
Our services personnel spend less time coaching clients through the use of our products.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
Five or more years experience in authoring technical documentation. We will request samples of your work.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills and an ability to integrate complex ideas, strategies, and operational models into your work.
Strong attention to detail and an eye for developing content that holistically solves users? needs.
Technical proficiency or knowledge of applicable Web technologies, such as eCommerce platforms, JAVA, XML, APIs, or web analytics.
Understanding of software as a service (SaaS) technologies and implementation terminology.
Experience in content authoring tools, such as MadCap Flare, and with XML and HTML.
Experience working with single-source documentation processes, including the translation process to multiple languages.
Experience in image creation and editing, ideally with both vector graphics and screen captures.
Able to meet deadlines and complete multiple projects under extremely tight timeframes.
Self-driven, resourceful, and able to achieve goals independently and as part of cross-departmental teams.
Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
Ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward.
Ability to review documentation and provide constructive feedback to peers and other departments.
Ability to interface with product management, development, and services delivery groups to execute delivery of documentation.
